Moms For America: Federal Indictment Of Southern Poverty Law Center Confirms What We've Said All Along

April 22, 2026

BRANSON, Missouri (April 22, 2026) – Following yesterday's federal indictment of the Southern Poverty Law Center on charges of wire fraud, bank fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering, Moms for America is speaking out — not with surprise, but with vindication.

The Justice Department alleges the SPLC secretly paid informants embedded in neo-Nazi and white supremacist organizations using donor funds, while concealing the program from the public. Federal prosecutors say the group was "manufacturing the extremism it purports to oppose." One informant helped coordinate transportation to the 2017 Charlottesville rally. Another was paid more than $1 million while affiliated with the neo-Nazi National Alliance.

Moms for America was among the organizations targeted by the SPLC's "Year in Hate and Extremism" report — labeled extremist for its advocacy on parental rights in education and healthcare.

Statement from Kimberly Fletcher, Founder & President, Moms for America:

"The Southern Poverty Law Center labeled Moms for America an 'extremist' organization for one reason—we refuse to back down in defending parents, children, and the Constitution. For years, we have stood on the front lines for parental rights—protecting families in education, safeguarding medical decision-making, and ensuring that parents, not government systems, remain the primary authority in their children's lives. That's not extremism. That's common sense and it's fundamentally American.

The SPLC has built a reputation on smearing and silencing those they disagree with. Now, with the recent federal indictment alleging fraud and financial misconduct, serious questions must be asked about their credibility, their motives, and the damage they've done to organizations like ours.Moms for America is made up of everyday mothers who love their families and their country. We will not be intimidated by labels designed to discredit and divide. If standing up for our children, our freedoms, and our Constitution makes us 'extreme' in their eyes—then it is clear Southern Poverty Law Center is the extremist group. We remain committed to truth, families, freedom, and ensuring the blessings of liberty for our children and we will continue this work without apology.”
