What Kind of America Are We Leaving Our Children? Moms for America Action Mobilizes the Powerful Mom Vote Ahead of Midterm Elections
October 16, 2026
WASHINGTON, DC — With the 2026 midterm elections approaching, Moms for America Action is mobilizing mothers across the country through its MomVote 2026 initiative, reminding candidates and elected representatives that the voices of America's mothers carry tremendous influence at the ballot box.
At the heart of the initiative is a simple but powerful question: What kind of America do you want your children to inherit?
For millions of American families, the answer goes beyond political parties and campaign promises. It means safe communities, quality education, economic opportunity, parental rights, and a government that protects American families while preserving the freedoms that have defined our nation for generations.
“Every election determines more than who holds office. It helps determine the kind of country our children will grow up in,” said Kimberly Fletcher, Founder and President of Moms for America Action. “Mothers understand that the decisions being made in Washington and in their own communities have real consequences at the kitchen table. Whether it's the cost of raising a family, protecting girls sports and safe spaces, what children are being taught in school, or keeping dangerous products out of their hands, these issues matter. The mom vote is powerful because mothers aren't just thinking about the next election. They're thinking about the next generation.”
Through its national MomVote effort, Moms for America Action is encouraging moms to examine where candidates stand on the issues that directly affect American families, including:
Parental Rights and Education: Protecting parents' fundamental role in decisions about their children's education, health, and upbringing while supporting school choice and educational opportunity.
Girls Sports and Safe Spaces: Protecting fairness in girls' and women's sports while preserving privacy, safety, and equal opportunities for girls and women in athletic competitions, locker rooms, bathrooms, and other female-designated spaces.
Family Affordability and Economic Opportunity: Addressing the rising costs of raising children, supporting policies that help new parents, reducing unnecessary regulations, and ensuring families have greater financial flexibility.
National Security and Foreign Influence: Protecting American agriculture, domestic industries, and supply chains from foreign exploitation and ensuring American families are not left vulnerable to overseas interests.
Border Security and Safe Communities: Supporting enforcement of immigration laws and policies that prioritize the safety and security of American communities.
Constitutional Freedoms and Election Integrity: Defending the constitutional rights of Americans while promoting transparent, secure elections that maintain public confidence.
These issues represent important differences in policy priorities, approaches to government, and visions for America's future. Moms for America Action is encouraging voters to look beyond political rhetoric and consider candidates' records, positions, and proposed solutions.
“Candidates cannot simply assume they have the support of America's mothers,” Fletcher continued. “They have to earn it. We want mothers asking questions, comparing records, and holding elected representatives accountable. When moms understand the issues and recognize the power of their vote, they can change the direction of their communities and ultimately the country.”
As part of MomVote 2026, volunteers are participating in neighborhood walkathons, door-to-door conversations, and phone outreach to connect with voters on the issues that matter most to families. The initiative provides resources and opportunities for mothers to become more engaged in the electoral process, including those who may not have previously participated in political activism.
With Election Day on November 3 approaching, Moms for America Action is reminding moms their vote is their voice for their values and that the future of the country will be shaped not only by national races but also by decisions made at the state and local levels.
The question facing voters this November is not simply which candidates will win, but what kind of future Americans are voting to create for the next generation.
